About Focus Systems Corporation
Focus Systems Corporation was formed in 1982 with the goal of applying
advanced technology to the management of retail operations. Initial activities
focused on the application of a unique, proprietary methodology for optimizing
the scheduling of personnel on the selling floor. Derived from research
conducted at MIT, the methodology led to the development of the QServ
Scheduling system.
Developed as a companion product, QServ Time and Attendance has been in live
operation since 1993. More recently, QServ has been recast using component
oriented technologies, vastly simplifying integration and deployment in the
retail organization.
Workforce management systems remain Focus Systems' principal product area, and the
retail industry the principal target market. Historically, Focus Systems has
specialized in satisfying the needs of large organizations with sophisticated
requirements.
